Persistent hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia of infancy (PHIH). |

用量 |
Adult & children 3-8 mg/kg in 2-3 divided doses. Appropriate starting dose: 3 mg/kg/day in 3 divided doses. Infant & newborn 8-15 mg/kgin 2-3 divided doses. Appropriate starting dose: 10 mg/kg/day in 3 divided doses. |

Use for functional hypoglycemia is contraindicated. Hypersensitivity to thiazides. |

注意事項 |
Treatment should be initiated under close clinical supervision, with careful monitoring of blood glucose & clinical response. Prolonged treatment requires regular monitoring of the urine for sugar & ketones, especially under stress conditions. Renal impairment. |

不良反應 |
Na & fluid retention, CHF in patients with compromised cardiac reserve. Diabetic ketoacidosis & hyperosmolar non-ketotic coma may develop very rapidly. Hirsutism of the lanugo type mainly on the forehead, back & limbs. Hyperglycemia or glycosuria. GI intolerance may include anorexia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, ileus, diarrhea, transient loss of taste. Tachycardia, palpitations, increased levels of serum uric acid. Thrombocytopenia with or without purpura. Neutropenia. Skin rash, headache, weakness & malaise.
