Dosage |
Adult 1-2 mg once daily, may be increased to max 4 mg/day. Hepatic impairment 1 mg/day. Max: 2 mg.

Special Precautions |
Hepatic or renal disorder. Hypothyroidism, hereditary muscle disorders, history of drug-induced myopathy. Elderly & childn. Monitor plasma lipid levels regularly.

Adverse Drug Reactions |
Abdominal pain, rash, malaise, numbness & pruritus. Rhabdomyolysis, myopathy, hepatic dysfunction, jaundice, decreased platelet count.

Pregnancy Category (US FDA) |
Category X: Studies in animals or human beings have demonstrated foetal abnormalities or there is evidence of foetal risk based on human experience or both, and the risk of the use of the drug in pregnant women clearly outweighs any possible benefit.
