Effects of this medicine
This medicine is a glycopeptide antibiotic which inhibits cell wall synthesis of anaerobic gram-positive bacteria, denatures their cell membrane, and inhibits their RNA synthesis to suppress the growth of those bacteria.
It is usually used to treat infectious enteritis (including pseudomembranous colitis) and to decontaminate the digestive tract in preparation for bone marrow transplantation.

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
If you have previously experienced shock.
If you have hearing loss or renal disorder.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

Infectious enteritis (including pseudomembranous colitis): In general, for adults, dissolve as needed and take 1/4 to 1 vial (0.125 to 0.5 g [titer] of the active ingredient) at a time, 4 times a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the disease, age, body weight or symptoms.
Digestive decontamination for bone marrow transplantation: In general, for adults, dissolve as needed and take 1 vial (0.5 g [titer] of the active ingredient) at a time, 4 to 6 times a day, together with non-absorbable antibacterial and antifungal medicines. The dosage may be adjusted according to the disease, age, body weight or symptoms.
In any case, strictly follow the instructions.

In the case of infectious enteritis, if the symptoms such as diarrhea and abdominal pain do not improve after treatment with this medicine for 7 to 10 days, consult with your doctor.

If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.

If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include fever, rash, flush, chills, hives, itching, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
