Effects of this medicine
This medicine increases respiratory volume by selectively acting on the respiratory center through peripheral chemoreceptors (carotid body).
It is usually used to treat chronic lung disease accompanied by acute hypercapnia.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
If you have epilepsy or convulsion.
If you have decreased ventilatory capacity and need assistance with a respirator.
If you have hypertension, cerebrovascular disorder, heart disease, cerebral edema, bronchospasm, hyperthyroidism, gastric ulcer or upper airway obstruction.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include sensation of heat/hot flush, sweating, tremor and increased blood pressure. If any of these symptoms occurs, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
