Effects of this medicine
This medicine is rich in with branched-chain amino acids known to detoxify ammonia and promote protein synthesis, and it also contains carbohydrates, lipids, vitamins, and micronutrients for which dietary intake alone tends to be insufficient. The medicine supplements these nutritional components and enhances liver function to improve complications such as hepatic encephalopathy in patients with hepatic insufficiency.
It is usually used to improve nutritional state in patients with chronic hepatic insufficiency, including hepatic encephalopathy.

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

In general, for adults, reconstitute one package (50 g) of this medicine at a time with approx. 180 mL of room-temperature water or warm water (approx. 50℃) and ingest 3 times daily with meals (approx. 200 kcal/200 mL). The dosage may be adjusted according to your disease, age, or symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.

Take the solution within 10 hours after preparation. If you should need to store the solution after preparation, store it in a cool place such as a refrigerator and take it within 10 hours.

Do not reconstitute this medicine with hot water (hotter than approx. 50℃), as this will cause protein alterations.

You may add some dietary flavoring (seasoning) or dietary fiber-rich vegetable according to your taste preference, but do not add fruit juice because the acidity may cause the solution to become gelatinous.

If you have difficulty taking the solution due to the taste (particularly bitterness), reconstitute the medicine with approx. 230 mL of room-temperature water or warm water to prepare a solution at a concentration of approx. 0.8 kcal/mL (approx. 200 kcal/250 mL).

If you miss a dose, take the dose as soon as you remember it. You should not take two doses at one time.

If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

Follow the dietary instructions given by your hospital.

As the daily dose (150 g) of this medication accounts for 40.5 g of protein and a total calorie intake of 630 kcal, take the remainder of your required daily nutrition through meals. Follow the dietary instructions of your doctor or dietitian regarding the content of your meals.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include rash, itch, diarrhea, bloating, nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, epigastric pain/abdominal pain, edema, and headache/dull headache. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
