適應症 |
Treatment of infections due to Staph, Strep, pneumococcus, meningococcus & other susceptible organisms such as infections of the upper & lower respiratory tract, GUT, skin & soft tissue, bone & joint. Dental infections, septic abortion, puerperal sepsis, intra-abdominal sepsis. Vial Also indicated for prophylaxis against infection which may be associated with major surgical procedures such as GI, pelvic, head & neck, cardiac, renal, joint replacement & biliary tract. |

用量 |
Tab Adult & children >12 years Mild-moderate infections One 375 mg tab tid. Severe infections One 1 g tab bid or two 375 mg tab tid. Dental infections One 375 mg tab tid for 5 days. 156 mg/5 mL syr 25 mg/kg/day in divided doses. May be increased to 50 mg/kg/day in severe infections. children > 6 years 10 mL tid, 1-6 years 5 mL tid, < 1 year 25 mg/kg/day. 457 mg/5 mL syr Mild-moderate infections 25/3.6 mg/kg/day. children 7-12 years 5 mL bid, 2-6 years 2.5 mL bid. Severe infections 45/6.4 mg/kg/day. children 7-12 years 10 mL bid, 2-6 years 5 mL bid. IV inj Treatment of infections Adult & children >12 years 1.2 g 8 hrly, increasing to 6 hrly in more serious infections. Children 3 months-12 years 30 mg/kg 8 hrly, increasing to 6 hrly in more serious infections, 0-3 months 30 mg/kg 12 hrly in premature infants & in full-term infants during the perinatal period, increasing to 8 hrly thereafter. Surgical prophylaxis Adult 1.2 g at the induction of anesth. Where there is a high risk of infection, 3-4 doses of 1.2 g may be needed in a 24-hr period. Continue regimen for several days if procedure has significantly increased risk of infection. |

May be taken with or without food (May be given without regard to meals. Best taken at the start of meals for better absorption & to reduce GI discomfort.). |

Category B: Either animal-reproduction studies have not demonstrated a foetal risk but there are no controlled studies in pregnant women or animal-reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect (other than a decrease in fertility) that was not confirmed in controlled studies in women in the 1st trimester (and there is no evidence of a risk in later trimesters). |

禁忌 |
History of hypersensitivity to β-lactams. History of penicillin-associated jaundice/hepatic dysfunction. |

注意事項 |
Avoided if infectious mononucleosis is suspected. Prolonged use. Appropriate monitoring of prothrombin time when concurrent administration of anticoagulants. Evidence of hepatic dysfunction. Renal impairment. Maintain adequate fluid intake & urinary output. Phenylketonuria. Pregnancy. |

Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, mucocutaneous candidiasis.

交互作用 |
Probenecid decreases the renal tubular secretion of amoxycillin. Concomitant use of allopurinol can increase the likelihood of allergic skin reactions. Reduce efficacy of OCs. Prothrombin time or international normalized ratio should be carefully monitored when co-administered with acenocoumarol or warfarin.
