適應症 |
In CHD: reduce risk of death, coronary death & non-fatal MI; reduce risk of stroke & transient ischemic attacks (TIA); reduce risk for undergoing myocardial revascularization procedures; slow progression of coronary atherosclerosis. In hyperlipidaemia: an adjunct to diet to reduce elevated total-C, LDL-C, Apo B & TG, & to increase HDL-C in patients with primary hypercholesterolaemia, heterozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia or mixed hyperlipidaemia. Treatment of patients with hypertriglyceridemia & primary dysbetalipoproteinemia. Adjunct to diet & other non-dietary measures to reduce elevated total-C, LDL-C & apo B in homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. |

用量 |
Patients should be placed on standard cholesterol-lowering diet. Initially 20-40 mg/day as a single dose in the evening. Dosage adjustments may be made at 4-wk intervals. Usual dosage range: 5-80 mg/day. Homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia 40 mg/day in the evening or 80 mg/day in 3 divided doses of 20 mg, 20 mg & an evening dose of 40 mg. Concomitant therapy In patients taking cyclosporine, fibrate or niacin concomitantly max: 10 mg/day. |

過量 |

May be taken with or without food (Avoid excessive consumption (> 1 L/day) of grapefruit juice.). |

Category X: Studies in animals or human beings have demonstrated foetal abnormalities or there is evidence of foetal risk based on human experience or both, and the risk of the use of the drug in pregnant women clearly outweighs any possible benefit. The drug is contraindicated in women who are or may become pregnant. |

禁忌 |
Active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevations of serum transaminases. Pregnancy & lactation. Hypersensitivity. |

注意事項 |
Elevations of serum transaminases. If the transaminase level rises persistently to 3 times the upper limit of normal, discontinue drug. Liver function tests recommended before treatment begins & periodically thereafter (eg semi-annually) for the 1st years of treatment or until 1 year after the last elevation in dose in all patients. Caution in patients who consume substantial quantities of alcohol &/or have a history of liver disease. If muscle symptoms &/or marked elevation of CPK levels occur, discontinue drug. Administer Zocor to women of childbearing age only when highly unlikely to conceive. |

不良反應 |
Abdominal pain, flatulence, constipation, asthenia & headache. Rarely hepatitis, hypersensitivity syndrome.

交互作用 |
Use with caution with coumarin anticoagulants & in combination with cyclosporine, itraconazole, ketoconazole, erythromycin, clarithromycin, HIV protease inhibitors, nefazodone, verapamil, fibric acid derivatives or niacin.
