Protection from hematological toxicity induced by DNA-binding chemotherapeutic agents; to protect from acute & cumulative non-hematologic toxicities associated with platinum-based therapy & to provide better adherence to these types of chemotherapy regimens. In association with standard fractionated radiation therapy, to protect against acute & late xerostomia, in head & neck cancer. |

用量 |
Adult 740-910 mg/m2 once daily as a 15 min IV infusion starting 30 min prior to chemotherapy with agents given by short infusion. |

Category C: Either studies in animals have revealed adverse effects on the foetus (teratogenic or embryocidal or other) and there are no controlled studies in women or studies in women and animals are not available. Drugs should be given only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the foetus. |

禁忌 |
Hypotensive or dehydrated patients. Renal or hepatic impairment. Children & patients > 70 years. Pregnancy & lactation. |

注意事項 |
Hydrate patient adequately prior to infusion, keep in supine position & monitor BP. Monitor Ca serum levels in patients at risk of hypocalcaemia eg those with nephrotic syndrome. |
|
不良反應 |
Hypotension, nausea, vomiting, flushing/feeling of warmth, chills/feeling of coldness, dizziness, somnolence, hiccups & sneezing.
