Indications |
Prostate cancer suitable for hormonal manipulation, breast cancer in pre- & peri-menopausal women suitable for hormonal manipulation, endometriosis, endometrial thinning, uterine fibroids, assisted reproduction.

Dosage |
1 depot SC into the anterior abdominal wall, every 28 days. Endometrial thinning 2 inj to be given 4 wk apart. Surgery w/in 2 wk after 2nd inj. Uterine fibroids 3.6 mg w/ supplementary Fe for up to 3 mth before surgery.

Special Precautions |
Men at risk of developing ureteric obstruction or spinal cord compression. Women w/ known metabolic bone disease. Polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Adverse Drug Reactions |
Hypersensitivity reactions (rare), arthralgia, nonspecific paraesthesias, rash, BP changes. Male Hot flushes, sweating, decrease in potency. Infrequently breast swelling & tenderness. Temporary increase in bone pain. Isolated cases of ureteric obstruction & spinal cord compression recorded. Female Hot flushes, sweating, change in libido, headache, mood changes including depression, vag dryness, change in breast size. Temporary increase in signs & symptoms. Rarely, patients w/ bony metastases have developed hypercalcaemia on initiation of therapy.

Pregnancy Category (US FDA) |
Category X: Studies in animals or human beings have demonstrated foetal abnormalities or there is evidence of foetal risk based on human experience or both, and the risk of the use of the drug in pregnant women clearly outweighs any possible benefit. The drug is contraindicated in women who are or may become pregnant. |
