Tablets, folinic acid (as calcium salt - calcium folinate [calcium leucovirin]) 15mg . Available from APS, Faulding, Generics UK, Hillcross.
Indications
Megaloblastic anaemia due to folate deficiency.
Adult Dosage
10 - 20mg daily (usual dose one tablet [15mg] daily).
Child Dosage
Under 12 years, 0.25mg/kg per day.
Contra Indications
Should not be used to treat pernicious anaemia or other megaloblastic anaemia where vitamin B is deficient.
Special Precautions
12 Pregnancy and lactation.
