Effects of this medicine
This medicine suppresses viral reproduction of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which depresses the immune system of the body and produces opportunistic infections, by competitively inhibiting reverse transcriptase in the virus, and shows antiviral action.
It is usually used in the treatment of HIV infection. |

Dosage regimen (proper use of this medicine)

General dosage regimen: For adults, take 3 tablets (600mg of the active ingredient) at a time, once daily, concurrently with other anti-HIV drug. It would be okay whether you take the medicine with food or not, however, it is recommended to take on an empty stomach or before going to bed to avoid developing side effects. Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist.

Missed dose: Take a dose as soon as possible when you remembered that you missed a dose. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT take double doses to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose: If you took too much of the medicine (more than ordered), check with your doctor/pharmacist.

Others: Do not stop taking the medicine without the instructions of your doctor.

Precautions while using this medicine

The medicine may cause dizziness, decline of concentration, or drowsiness. Avoid driving a car or operating dangerous machinery after taking the medicine.

Please note that alcohol may enhance the effect of the medicine.

Please note that foods containing Saint John's wort may stimulate metabolism of the drug and diminish the effect.

Side effects of this medicine
Common side effects are reported as below. If any of them occurs, check with your doctor/pharmacist:rash, nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, headache, insomnia, fatigue, problem with concentration, etc.In rare cases, symptoms described below may be the sign of side effects indicated in brackets [ ]. If they occur, stop taking your medicine and check with your doctor immediately.

loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, hand tremor flapping[hepatic failure]
