Effects of this medicine
This medicine exhibits histamine H1 receptor antagonism and improves symptoms caused by allergy.
It is usually used to treat allergic rhinitis, hives, eczema/dermatitis, prurigo, and dermal pruritus in adults, and to treat allergic rhinitis, hives, itch of skin disorder (eczema/dermatitis, dermal pruritus) in children.

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
If you have: renal or liver disorder, convulsive disorder such as epilepsy or history of this disorder.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

For adults: In general, take 0.8 g (10 mg as active ingredient) at a time, once a day, before bedtime by dissolving the medicine in water just before use. The dose may be adjusted according to your age and symptoms. The dose can be increased up to 1.6 g (20 mg) per day according to need.

For children: In general, for children aged between 2 to 6 years, take 0.2 g (2.5 mg) at a time, aged between 7 to under 15 years, take 0.4 g (5 mg) at a time, twice a day, after breakfast and before bedtime by dissolving the medicine in water just before use. Strictly follow the instructions.

If you miss a dose, take the missed last dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume taking the medicine at the time of next dose. You should never take two doses at one time.

If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

This medicine may make you sleepy. Avoid operating dangerous machinery such as driving a car.

Pay attention that drinking alcohol may intensify sleepiness or malaise.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include sleepiness, malaise, dry mouth, nausea, floating dizziness, headache and rash in adults, and sleepiness in children. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
