Effects of this medicine
This medicine constricts excessively dilated intracranial/extracranial blood vessels under migraine attack and puts them back to normal. It also reduces inflammation around the vessels by suppressing the release of the substance which causes inflammation.
It is usually used to treat migraine attack, for not to prevent it.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
If you have: heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease, hypertension, hepatic disease or kidney disease.
If you have had: epileptiform attack, heart disease or cerebrovascular disease.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

In general, for adults, spray once (20 mg of sumatriptan) into the nostril when migraine attack occurs. If the effect of this medicine is insufficient, spray an additional dose at an interval of 2 or more hours. Maximum use is 2 sprays (40 mg) a day. Strictly follow the instructions.

If this medicine is not effective for your migraine, there is a possibility you may have another disease. Using this medicine again despite its ineffectiveness may cause you to miss dangerous headaches which warn of other severe disease. In such cases, please consult with your doctor.

Do not use this medicine for other than spraying into your nostril.

Read the IMIGRAN Nasal Spray 20 instruction leaflet included in the package of this medicine carefully before use. If you have runny nose or stuffy nose, blow your nose before use. To keep this medicine clean, open the package just before use. A nebulizer contains only a single dose of drug solution, so do not test-spray before use. You may taste bitterness due to its active ingredient; this is normal.

Precautions while taking this medicine

This medicine may cause sleepiness. Avoid operating dangerous machinery, such as driving a car.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include rhinitis, nasal irritation, pharyngeal irritation, bitterness, feverish, flush, sleepiness, dizziness, pain in various parts of the body, nausea/vomiting, malaise and skin symptoms such as hives, rash etc.. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

respiratory distress, cold sweat, dizziness on standing up [anaphylactic shock, anaphylaxis]

palpitation, rapid pulse, chest pain [arrhythmia, ischemic heart disease-like symptoms]

consciousness disorder, convulsion [epileptiform attack]

Storage conditions and other information

Keep out of reach of children. Store away from heat, moisture and direct sunlight.
