Effects of this medicine
This medicine alkylates DNA and inhibits nucleic acid synthesis. It consequently suppresses cancer cell growth.
It is usually used in the surgery for malignant glioma.

If this medicine is used, you and your partner should not be pregnant within a certain period. Follow the instructions of your doctor on fertility control and duration.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include cerebral edema, fever, hemiplegia (including hemiparesis), nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite and headache. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

numbness of limbs, hemiplegia, swelling of lower limbs, chest pain, breathing difficulty [thromboembolism (cerebral infarction, deep venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism)]

hemiplegia, nausea, vomiting, headache, consciousness disorder [hemorrhage (tumor hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, intracranial hemorrhage)]
