Effects of this medicine
This medicine exhibits histamine H1 receptor antagonism and improves symptoms caused by allergy.
For adults, it is usually used to treat allergic rhinitis, hives, eczema/dermatitis, prurigo, and dermal pruritus. For children, it is usually used to treat allergic rhinitis, hives, itch of skin disorder (eczema/dermatitis, dermal pruritus).

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

If you ever experienced any allergic reaction (itch, rash etc.) to any medicine.
If you have renal or liver disorder.
If you have convulsive disorder such as epilepsy, or history of this disease.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

General dosage regimen: For adults, take 0.8g (10mg as active ingredient) once a day, before bedtime by dissolving the medicine in water just before use. The dose may be adjusted according to your age and symptoms. The dose can be increased up to 1.6g (20mg) per day according to need. For children aged between 2 to 6 years: take 0.2g (2.5mg), aged between 7 to under 15 years: take 0.4g (5mg), twice a day, after breakfast and before bedtime by dissolving the medicine in water just before use. Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist.

Take the missed last dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. DO NOT take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

If you took too much of this medicine (more than ordered), check with your doctor/pharmacist.

Do not stop taking this medicine without the instructions of your doctor.

Precautions while taking this medicine

This medicine may make you sleepy. Do not drive a car or operate dangerous machinery just after taking it.

Drinking alcohol while taking this medicine may intensify sleepiness or lassitude.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine
Common side effects are reported as below. If any of them occurs, check with your doctor/pharmacist:
In adults, sleepiness, lassitude, dry mouth, nausea, floating dizziness, headache, rash, etc. In chidren, sleepiness, etc.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

generalized fatigability, appetite loss, yellowness in the skin and the white of the eye [liver dysfunction, jaundice]
