Effects of this medicine
This medicine is an antibiotic which obstructs the composition of the bacterial cell wall, and shows bactericidal action. Some bacteria produce β-lactamase, an enzyme which breaks down antibiotics. This medicine includes ingredients inhibiting this enzyme.
It is usually used for sepsis, pneumonia, pyelonephritis, complicated cystitis, or pyrogenic neutropenia.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
If you, your parents or your sibling have/has allergic tendencies (bronchial asthma, rash or hives).
If you have: infectious mononucleosis, renal disorder (include dialysis), inadequate food intake, predisposition to bleeding, or hepatic disorder.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

In general, administer intravenously with a drip infusion 2 to 4 times a day.

For adults of pyelonephritis and complicated cystitis, administer intravenously for about five days.

For community-acquired pneumonia, pyrogenic neutropenia, children of pyelonephritis, or complicated cystitis, administer intravenously for about fourteen days.

For sepsis and nosocomial (in-hospital) pneumonia, administer intravenously for about twenty one days.

Precautions while taking this medicine

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include diarrhea, soft stool, vomiting, fever, constipation, rash, and headache. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

respiratory distress, hives, conscious disorder [shock, anaphylaxis]

red rash, bloodshot eyes, rash in the oral mucous membrane with pain [toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis]

general malaise, loss of appetite, yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes [hepatitis fulminant, hepatic function disorder, jaundice]

swelling, decrease of urine output, loss of appetite [acute renal failure, interstitial nephritis]

pharynx pain, nose bleeding/gum bleeding, anemia [pancytopenia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, hemolytic anemia ]
