Effects of this medicine
This medicine has suppressive action on pituitary-gonadal axis function and suppresses secretion of sex hormones.
It is usually used to treat endometriosis.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
If you have abnormal genital bleeding, bone disease or bleeding tendency.

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or possibly pregnant.

If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

In general, inject this medicine subcutaneously in the anterior abdomen, once every 4 weeks (28 days). Inject the first dose during menstruation period.

In general, continue using this medicine for 6 months.

The effect of this medicine lasts for 4 weeks per dose. Make sure to visit hospital every 4 weeks (28 days) and receive injection. After 4 weeks, the effect of this medicine decreases and symptoms may worsen temporarily.

The local anesthesia may be used before injection of this medicine, in order to reduce pain at the injection site.

Precautions while taking this medicine

Prevent pregnancy by using non-hormonal forms of contraception during treatment.

Try to get adequate exercise and take in calcium-rich food in order to prevent decrease of bone mineral content.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include hot flash/glow, shoulder stiffness, headache and genital bleeding. If any of these symptoms occurs, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occurs, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

respiratory distress, hives, cold sweat [anaphylaxis]

yellow discoloration of the skin/white of eyes, general malaise, loss of appetite [liver dysfunction, jaundice]

acute precordial pressure, one-sided paralysis of the limbs or the face that develops suddenly, respiratory distress [thromboembolism]
