Effects of this medicine
This medicine is recombinant human parathyroid hormone preparation. It prompts bone formation, increases bone mass that was lost due to osteoporosis and reconstructs the structure in the bones to prevent bone fracture.
It is usually used to treat patients with osteoporosis who are at high risk for bone fracture. |
Before using this medicine, tell your doctor/pharmacist

If you have ever experienced any allergic reaction (e.g. itch, rash etc.) to any medicine.

If you have any symptoms of an elevated calcium level in the blood (hypercalcemia), kidney dysfunction or urinary stone.

If you have an increased risk for osteosarcoma (e.g. Paget's disease of bone or unexplained elevations of alkaline phosphatase, children or youth with open epiphyses, or prior external beam or implant radiation therapy with possible effects on the bones).

If you have bone tumors or metabolic bone diseases other than osteoporosis (e.g. Hyperparathyroidism etc.).

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are using any other prescription or nonprescription (OTC) medicine. (It is important to reduce the risk of drug interactions.)

Dosage regimen (proper use of this medicine)

For adults, inject 20 μg of the active ingredient at a time, once a day subcutaneously. Use of the medicine for less than 24 months is recommended. Strictly follow the instruction of your doctor/pharmacist.

Do not share one preparation with other people.

Missed dose: Consult your doctor if you missed a dose. DO NOT inject double doses to make up for a missed dose.

Overdose: If you injected too much of the medicine (more than prescribed), consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Others: Do not stop injecting the medicine without explicit instructions from your doctor.

Precautions while using this medicine

Please take caution when using the medicine as orthostatic hypotension or dizziness may cause accidents in the following situations.
- Working in high places
- Operating a motor vehicle

Side effects of this medicine
Common side effects are reported as below. If you experience any of these side effects, consult your doctor or pharmacist: nausea, headache, decreased appetite, muscle spasms, etc. Since elevated levels of serum calcium may be observed, if you have any persistent symptoms related to hypercalcemia (e.g. nausea, vomiting, constipation, drowsiness, muscle weakness), contact your doctor immediately.In rare cases, symptoms described below may be the sign of side effects indicated in brackets [ ]. If they occur, stop taking your medicine and check with your doctor immediately.No pertinent entries.Other side effects not listed here may occur. Check with your doctor/pharmacist if you have any worrisome symptom. |
Storage and other information

Store at 2-8 ℃ (in refrigerator, etc.), away from light and avoid freezing.
