Effects of this medicine
This medicine increases GABA concentration in the brain and suppresses spasms and comorbid psychiatric symptoms. Additionally it suppresses manic-state.
It is usually used to treat epilepsy, character and behavior disorder(bad mood, irritability, etc.)that accompanies epilepsy, mania, and manic-state in bipolar disorder. |

If you ever experienced any allergic reaction (itch, rash etc.) to any medicine.
If you are a patient with hepatic disorder, abnormality in urea cycle, impaired of hepatic function or a history of them, a history of hypersensitivity, a history of suicide attempt, suicide ideation that accompanies mania, manic-state in bipolar disorder, encephalopathy of unknown cause, a history of coma of unknown cause, a family history of unexplained infant death.

If you are using any other prescription or nonprescription (OTC) medicine. (It is important to reduce the risk of drug interactions.)

Dosage regimen (proper use of this medicine)

General dosage regimen: Take 4-12 tablets(400-1,200 mg of the active ingredient) daily, in 2 or 3 divided doses. The dosage should be adjusted according to your disease, age, and symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist.

Missed dose: Take a dose when you remember that you missed a dose. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT take double doses to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose: If you took too much of the medicine (more than ordered), check with your doctor/pharmacist.

Others: Do not stop taking the medicine without the instructions of your doctor.

Precautions while using this medicine

This medicine may cause drowsiness, diminished attention, loss of concentration, decreased reflex motor capacity, etc. Avoid operating dangerous machinery and driving a car, etc.

Side effects of this medicine
Common side effects are reported as below. If any of them occurs, check with your doctor/pharmacist:somnolence, incoordination(limb movement incoordination), headache, insomnia, unrest, abnormal vision, anorexia, constipation, malaise, etc.In rare cases, symptoms described below may be the sign of side effects indicated in brackets [ ]. If they occur, stop taking your medicine and check with your doctor immediately.

yellowness in eyes or skin, vomiting, unconscious[severe hepatic disorder such as fulminant hepatitis]

conscious disorder, flapping tremor [disturbed consciousness accompanied by hyperammonemia]

bleed easily, brown urine, tinnitus[hemolytic anemia, pure red cell aplasia, pancytopenic, severe thrombopenia, granulocytopenia]

sever pain in the upper abdomen, back pain, fever[acute pancreatitis]

fever, finger tremor, depper breathing[interstitial nephritis, fanconi syndrome ]

red rash, lip/oral cavity sore, high fever[mucocutaneous ocular syndrome, toxic epidermal necrosis ]

rash, itching, fever[hypersensitivity syndrome]

brain shrinkage, disturbance of memory, limb tremor[brain shrinkage, symptom of dementia, parkinson's syndrome]

pain of the muscle, lassitude, numbness in a limb[rhabdomyolysis]

hyponatraemia, hypoosmolar state, increase sodium in the urine[syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion]
Other side effects not listed here may occur. Check with your doctor/pharmacist if you have any worrisome symptom. |
Storage and other information

Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture. keep in the packing sheet(PTP sheet) before use, as the medicine has hygroscopic nature.
