Effects of this medicine

Before using this medicine, tell your doctor/pharmacist

• If you ever experienced any allergic reaction (itch, rash etc.) to any medicine.
  If you have diabetic ketoacidosis, diabetic coma, type 1 diabetes or infections. If you are in emergency such as undergoing a surgery.

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

• If you are using any other prescription or nonprescription (OTC) medicine. (It is important to reduce the risk of drug interactions.)

Dosage regimen (proper use of this medicine)

• Your dosage regimen is:(order of your doctor)

• General dosage regimen: For adults, inject 0.9 mg of the active ingredient at a time, once daily, morning or evening. However, start with 0.3 mg at a time, once daily, and then increase 0.3 mg each time after more than a week of assessment. The timing of injection should be either at morning or at evening, but fix it everyday. The dosage may be adjusted according to the symptoms, however, the daily dosage is limited to 0.9 mg. Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist.

• Should not be shared your VICTOZA HikaChu 18mg with another person.
• Injection sites are abdomen, thighs and upper arms. You have to change the site every time you inject, and inject the medicine at least 2 to 3 cm apart from the previous injected site.

• Missed dose: Inject a dose as soon as possible if it is within a few hours after regular timing of injection. In other cases (a few hours had passed), skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT inject double doses to make up for the missed dose. Consult your doctor if you missed injections a few days.

• Overdose: If you injected too much of the medicine (more than ordered), check with your doctor/pharmacist.

• Others: Do not stop injecting the medicine without the instructions of your doctor.

Precautions while using this medicine

• Strictly adhere to dietary instructions given and to kinesitherapy prescribed.
• Make sure that your family members or friends understand the usage and how to treat hypoglycemia. When hypoglycemia symptoms occur, take an adequate amount of sugar (e.g., sugar, glucose, soft drinks).

Side effects of this medicine

• weakness, general malaise, severe sense of hunger, cold sweat [hypoglycemia]
• persistent severe pain in the abdomen or lower back with vomiting or nausea, fever, decreased appetite [pancreatitis]

Storage and other information

• Keep out the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight. Keep unused medicine cleanly in refrigerator (2-8℃) avoiding freezing. Do not keep the medicine during use in refrigerator. Use within 30 days after starting of use.
• Discard the remainder. Do not store them. Ask the pharmacist how to discard.
