Effects of this medicine
This medicine selectively inhibits epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) thyrosin kinase to suppresse the growth of cancer cells.It is usually used to treat EGFR mutation positive inoperable or recurrent non-small cell lung cancer. |

If you ever experienced any allergic reaction (itch, rash etc.) to any medicine.
If you are a patient with acute lung injury, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, interstitial pneumonia, pneumoconiosis, radiation pneumonitis, drug-induced pneumonia or history of any of them.
If you are a patient with hepatic disorder.
If you are with poor general condition (need help, can’t work on light duty),pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are using any other prescription or nonprescription (OTC) medicine. (It is important to reduce the risk of drug interactions.)

Dosage regimen (proper use of this medicine)

General dosage regimen: For adults, take 1 tablet (250mg of the active ingredient) at a time, one a day. Strictly follow the dosing instructions given by your doctor.

Elderly patients may show decrease in gastric acidity. Take the medicine after meal if possible.

Missed dose: If you are ordered to use the medicine on regular schedule and you missed a dose, take dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT take double doses to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose: If you have taken or believe you may have taken excessive IRESSA Tablets 250, check with your doctor/pharmacist immediately.

Others: Do not stop taking the medicine without the instructions of your doctor.

Precautions while using this medicine

May cause tiredness; be careful when driving or operating machinery.

You should not take the medicine with grapefruit juice, it may make the medicine work excessively.

Do not take with Saint John's wort, it may weaken the effect of the medicine.

Side effects of this medicine
Common side effects are reported as below. If any of them occurs, check with your doctor/pharmacist:skin reaction such as rash, itch, dry skin, skin fissure, acne, etc. nail disorder, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, anorexia, stomatitis, abnormality of hepatic function, acute lung injury, interstitial pneumonia, etc.In rare cases, symptoms described below may be the sign of side effects indicated in brackets [ ]. If they occur, stop taking your medicine and check with your doctor immediately.

fever, dry cough, respiratory distress [acute lung disorder, pneumonitis]

general fatigue, loss of appetite, yellowing of the skin and white eyes[hepatitis, liver function abnormalities, jaundice, hepatic failure]

diarrhea, overbreathing (hyperventilation), conscious disorder [diarrhea, dehydration]
-
blood in urine, frequent urination, feeling of residual urine [hematuria, hemorrhagic cystitis]

stomachache (upper stomach/back pain), fever, nausea [acute pancreatitis]
-
anemia, abdominal pains, black stool[perforation of the digestive tract, gastrointestinal ulceration, gastrointestinal bleeding]
Other side effects not listed here may occur. Check with your doctor/pharmacist if you have any worrisome symptom. |
Storage and other information

Keep out of reach of children. Store away from heat, humidity and direct sunlight.
