Prophylaxis & treatment of deep venous thrombosis & pulmonary embolism; prevention of thromboembolism in atrial fibrillation, prosthetic heart valves, post MI; management of transient ischemic attacks. |

用量 |
Initially 10-15 mg daily for 3 days with dosage adjustments based on the results of PT/INR determinations. Maintenance: 2-10 mg daily. |

Category X: Studies in animals or human beings have demonstrated foetal abnormalities or there is evidence of foetal risk based on human experience or both, and the risk of the use of the drug in pregnant women clearly outweighs any possible benefit. The drug is contraindicated in women who are or may become pregnant. |

Pregnancy; hemorrhagic tendency or blood dyscrasias; recent or contemplated surgery of CNS, eye; traumatic surgery resulting in large open surfaces; bleeding tendencies associated with active ulceration or overt bleeding; threatened abortion; spinal puncture; severe hepatic or renal disease. |

注意事項 |
Periodic determination of PT/INR or other suitable coagulation test is essential. Numerous factors, alone or in combination, including travel, changes in diet, environment, physical state & medication, including botanicals, may influence response of the patient to anticoagulants. Use with drugs that may interact with warfarin through pharmacodynamic or pharmacokinetic mechanisms. |

不良反應 |
Hemorrhage, necrosis of skin or other tissues. Infrequently, alopecia, fever, GI disturbances, hypersensitivity reactions, skin rash.

交互作用 |
Drugs that enhance the anticoagulant effect: sulfonamides, sulfonylurea-type antidiabetic agents, clofibrate, cimetidine, phenylbutazone & other pyrazolones, anabolic steroids, sulfinpyrazone, aspirin & other NSAIDs, thyroid hormones, disulfiram & amiodarone. Drugs that reduce the anticoagulant effect: barbiturates, rifampicin, glutethimide, vit K. Other drugs that may theoretically enhance the effects of warfarin (monitor INR): allopurinol, danazol, diazoxide, metronidazole, aminoglycosides, alcohol, miconazole, triclofos, chloral hydrate, chloramphenicol, phenytoin, erythromycin, quinidine, dextropropoxyphene, vit E, paracetamol, glucagon. Other drugs that may theoretically reduce the effects of warfarin (monitor): OCs, carbamazepine, griseofulvin, glucocorticoids, cholestyramine.
