Indications |
Myelodysplastic syndrome subtypes: Refractory anemia or refractory anemia w/ ringed sideroblasts (if accompanied by neutropenia or thrombocytopenia or requiring transfusions), refractory anemia w/ excess blasts, refractory anemia w/ excess blasts in transformation & chronic myelomonocytic leukemia.

Dosage |
75 mg/m2 SC or IV daily for 7 days. Repeat cycles every 4 wk. May be increased to 100 mg/m2 if no beneficial effect is seen after 2 cycles. Min: 6 cycles.

Contraindications |
Hypersensitivity to mannitol. Advanced malignant hepatic tumors.

Adverse Drug Reactions |
Nausea, anemia, thrombocytopenia, vomiting, pyrexia, leukopenia, diarrhea, fatigue, inj site erythema, constipation, neutropenia, ecchymosis; petechiae, rigors, weakness & hypokalemia.
