Indications |

Dosage |
20 mcg once daily by SC inj in the thigh or abdomen for 18 up to 24 mth.

Overdosage |
View Forteo overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose. |

Contraindications |
Preexisting hypercalcemia. Severe renal impairment. Metabolic bone diseases other than primary osteoporosis. Unexplained elevations of alkaline phosphatase. Prior radiation therapy to the skeleton. Patients w/ skeletal malignancies or bone metastases. Pregnancy & lactation.

Special Precautions |
Patient w/ active or recent urolithiasis. Isolated episodes of transient orthostatic hypotension. Moderate renal impairment. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Childn or young adult w/ open epiphyses.

Adverse Drug Reactions |
Nausea, limb pain, headache & dizziness. Palpitations, anaemia, sciatica, vertigo, dyspnoea, vomiting, hiatus hernia, GERD, increased sweating, muscle cramps, hypercholesterolaemia, hypotension, fatigue, chest pain, asthenia, mild & transient inj site events, depression.
