Medium-chain triglycerides, refined soya oil, omega-3-acid triglycerides |

Indications |
Supply of fats including omega-6 & omega-3 fatty acids as part of a parenteral nutrition regimen if oral or enteral nutrition is impossible, inadequate or contraindicated. |

Dosage |
Adult 1-2 g fat/kg body wt/day (5-10 mL/kg body wt/day), max infusion rate up to 0.15 g fat/kg body wt/hr (up to 0.75 mL/kg body wt/hr) by central & peripheral IV infusion. |

Contraindications |
Severe hyperlipidaemia & blood clotting disorders, intrahepatic cholestasis, severe liver & kidney impairment (w/o access to haemofiltration or dialysis). Acute phase of heart attack or stroke, acute thromboembolic disease, fat embolism. |

Special Precautions |
Monitor serum triglycerides. Rule out fasting lipaemia prior to commencing infusion. |
