Effects of this medicine
This medicine delays glucose absorption from the small intestine by inhibiting the enzyme activity which degrades carbohydrates to glucose.
It is usually used for the treatment of diabetes mellitus by suppressing a rapid elevation of postprandial glucose.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

If you ever experienced any allergic reaction (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicine.
If you are a patient with ketosis, diabetic coma or precoma, infection, pre and post operation, wound.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

General dosage regimen: For adults, take 1 tablet (50mg of the active ingredient) at a time, three times a day. If you do not respond to this medicine sufficiently, a dose may be increased up to 1.5 tablets (75mg). Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist. Dose BEFORE you start eating.

If you missed a dose, take it as soon as possible during meal. If NOT during meal, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT take double doses to make up for the missed dose.

If you took too much of the medicine (more than ordered), check with your doctor/pharmacist.

Do not stop taking the medicine without the instructions of your doctor.

Precautions while taking this medicine

Take 5-10g of glucose not sucrose(sugar) when hypoglycemic symptoms occur.

Avoid working at heights or driving a car while taking this medicine because hypoglycemic symptoms can lead to an accident.

Possible adverse effects of this medicine
Common side effects are reported as below. If any of them occurs, check with your doctor/pharmacist: borborygmus, abdomen enlarged, diarrhea, hypoglycemia, rash, etc.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse effects indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

generalized fatigability, nausea, yellowness in skin or conjunctiva[liver dysfunction, jaundice]
