Effects of this medicine
This medicine suppresses the production of gastric acid by inhibiting substances that are related to gastric acid secretion.
It is usually used to treat gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, anastomotic ulcer, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, reflux esophagitis and upper gastrointestinal bleeding, and to improve gastric mucosal lesions (erosion, bleeding, redness and edema) in patients with acute gastritis and acute exacerbation of chronic gastritis. It is also used for anesthetic premedication.

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

For gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, anastomotic ulcer, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, reflux esophagitis and upper gastrointestinal bleeding: In general, for adults, take 1 tablet (150 mg as ranitidine) at a time, twice a day (after breakfast and before bedtime). However, you may also take 2 tablets (300 mg) at a time, once a day (before bedtime). The dosage may be adjusted according to your disease, age or symptoms.
For acute gastritis and acute exacerbation of chronic gastritis: In general, for adults, take 1 tablet (150 mg as ranitidine) at a time, once a day (before bedtime). The dosage may be adjusted according to your disease, age or symptoms.
Anesthetic premedication: In general, for adults, take 1 tablet (150 mg as ranitidine) at a time, twice (once before bedtime on the day before surgery and once 2 hours before anesthesia induction on the day of surgery).
In any case, strictly follow the instructions.

If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.

Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include gastrointestinal symptoms such as constipation and diarrhea, rash, itch, fever, angioedema and vasculitis. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

anemic symptoms, fever, bleeding tendency [blood disorder such as aplastic anemia and pancytopenia]

general malaise, vomiting, yellow discoloration of the skin [hepatic dysfunction, jaundice]

muscle pain of the arms and legs, general malaise, reddish brown urine [rhabdomyolysis]

impaired consciousness, cannot think clearly, decreased judgment [disturbed consciousness, convulsion, myoclonus]
