Effects of this medicine
This medicine shows electrolyte balance (with acid-base balance) control effect as potassium ion after absorption from intestine.
It is usually used to supply potassium in patients with hypokalemic conditions.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
If you have: renal dysfunction, Addison's disease, hyperkalemia, gastrointestinal transit disorder or hyperkalemic periodic paralysis.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

In general, take 4 tablets (10 mEq equivalent of the potassium) at a time, 3 to 4 times a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.

This medicine should be discontinued, if hyperkalemia occurs.

Aldosteron antagonist may be used concomitantly in case of hypokalemia due to primary aldosteronism.

Chloride may be supplied in case of hypokalemia with hypochloremic alkalosis.

If you miss a dose, take a dose as soon as possible when you noticed. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.

If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

Blood or urine potassium level, renal function and electrocardiogram (ECG) etc. should be tested regularly during long-term use. Receive these tests on your designated date and time.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea, abdominal pain, heartburn, constipation, abdominal enlarged feeling, eruption and itch. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
