Effects of this medicine
This medicine acts antagonistically upon the receptor for angiotensin II which is a pressor substance and also acts on the calcilum channel of smooth muscle of blood vessels to reduce resistance of peripheral blood vessels and eventually lower blood pressure.
It is usually used to treat hypertension.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
If you have renal disorder, liver disorder, cerebrovascular disorder, or hyperkalemia.
If you are receiving hemodialysis, under low-salt diet treatment, or a preoperative patient.

If you are pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

For adults: In general, take 1 tablet at a time, once a day. Strictly follow the instructions.

If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If there is less than 8 hours to the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at your regular time. You should never take two doses at one time.

If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

As dizziness and light-headedness may appear due to excessive lowering of blood pressure. Therefore, be aware of working at heights or operating dangerous machinery such as driving a car.
Do not take this medicine together with grapefruits juice as it may enhance antihypertensive effect of the medicine.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include eczema, dizziness, light-headedness, swelling, bradycardia, palpitation, decreased blood presure, hot flash, headache, diarrhea, pain in the pit of stomach, constipation, stomatitis, and gingival hyperplasia. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

facial/tongue/throat swelling, breathlessness [angioedema]

feeling cold, vomiting, falling unconscious [shock, syncope, loss of consciousness]

decreased urination output, swelling of face and hands/feet, fever [acute renal failure]

numbness of hands/feet and lips, muscle weakness [hyperkalemia]
-
yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes, dullness, loss of appetite [liver dysfunction, jaundice]

nose bleeding, gingival bleeding, subcutaneous hemorrhage, fever, throat pain [decreased platelet count, decreased white blood cell]

bradycardia, dizziness [atrioventricular block]
