Effects of this medicine
This medicine is an aminoglycoside antibiotic which inhibits bacterial protein synthesis to exert an antibacterial effect.
It is usually used to treat sepsis and pneumonia.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
If you or your family has hearing difficulty due to aminoglycoside antibiotic or hearing difficulty due to other causes.
If you have renal disorder or liver disorder.
If you have poor oral intake or are receiving parenteral nutrition.
If you are in a poor general condition.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

In general, for adults, this medicine is administered by intravenous infusion over a period of 30 minutes to 2 hours or injected intramuscularly once or twice a day. For children, this medicine is administered once or twice a day by intravenous infusion over a period of 30 minutes.

The treatment period with this medicine is determined based on your symptoms.

Relax and stay still while receiving drip infusion.

Precautions while taking this medicine

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include renal disorder, renal dysfunction, renal failure, liver dysfunction, liver disorder, jaundice, rash, drug eruption, itching, redness, fever, hives, anemia, diarrhea and melena. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

facial pallor, cold sweat, dizziness on standing up [shock]

sudden attacks of muscular spasms [convulsion]

hearing difficulty, dizziness, tinnitus [VIIIth cranial nerve disorder]

decreased urine output, edema, headache [serious renal disorder such as acute renal failure]

general malaise, nose/gum bleeding [pancytopenia]

Storage conditions and other information
