Effects of this medicine
This medicine works by slowing the production of cholesterol in the body. It selectively/competitively inhibits the action of enzyme HMG-CoA reductase that takes place in the liver to synthesize cholesterol.It is usually used for hypercholesterolemia or familial hypercholesterolemia. |
Before using this medicine, tell your doctor/pharmacist

Dosage regimen (proper use of this medicine)

Your dosage regimen is:(order of your doctor)

General dosage regimen: For adults, start with taking 2.5mg of Rosuvastatin at a time, once a day. If you need to lower LDL-cholesterol promptly, your doctor may prescribe 5mg at a time from the start. 1 tablet contains 5mg of Rosuvastatin. The dosage may be adjusted according to your disease, age and symptom. If it does not show enough effectiveness after 4 weeks, you may have higher dose. Do not exceed 4 tablets (20mg) a day. Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist.

Missed dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is close to your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT take double doses to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose: If you took too much of the medicine (more than ordered), check with your doctor/pharmacist.

Others: Do not stop taking the medicine without the instructions of your doctor.

Side effects of this medicine
Common side effects are reported as below. If any of them occurs, check with your doctor/pharmacist: sore muscle, itch, rash, hives, etc.In rare cases, symptoms described below may be the sign of side effects indicated in brackets [ ]. If they occur, stop taking your medicine and check with your doctor immediately.

pain in muscle, lassitude, red urine[rhabdomyolysis, myopathy]

generalized fatigability, vomiting, yellowing of the skin/eyes[hepatitis, hepatic function disorder, jaundice]

nose bleeding, bleeding from gum, subcutaneous bleeding in limbs[thrombocytopenia]

angioedema(swollen face/lips/eyelids), rash, itch, faint consciousness[hypersensitivity]
-
fever, dry cough, respiratory distress[interstitial pneumonitis]
Other side effects not listed here may occur. Check with your doctor/pharmacist if you have any worrisome symptom. |
Storage and other information

Keep the medicine out of the reach of children. Store it at room temperature ranging 1 to 30℃, away from direct sunlight and moisture.

Discard the remainder. Do not store them.
