Effects of this medicine
This medicine acts on receptors for neurotransmitter in brain, and regulates the function of neurotransmitters.
It improves symptoms such as hallucination/delusion and anxiety or irritability, and consequently stabilizes mood.
It also improves manic symptoms such as uncontrollable excitation and behavior. |
Before using this medicine, tell your doctor/pharmacist

If you ever experienced any allergic reaction (itch, rash etc.) to any medicine.

If you are a patient in coma.
If you have diabetes mellitus, including having a history of diabetes mellitus.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are using any other prescription or nonprescription (OTC) medicine. (It is important to reduce the risk of drug interactions.)

Dosage regimen (proper use of this medicine)

Your dosage regimen is:(order of your doctor)

For treatment of symptoms of hallucination/delusion, anxiety or irritability, for adults, start taking 0.5 to 1g (5 to 10mg of the active ingredient) once a day. The dosage is maintained on 1g (10mg) once a day, it may be adjusted according to your age and symptoms. However, the daily dosage is up to 2g (20mg).
For treatment of manic symptoms, for adults, start taking 1g (10mg of the active ingredient) once a day. The maintenance dosage may be adjusted according to your age and symptoms. However, the daily dosage is up to 2g (20mg).
Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist.

Missed dose: If you are ordered to use the medicine on regular schedule and you missed a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, just skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT take double doses to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose: If you took too much of the medicine (more than ordered), check with your doctor/pharmacist.

Others: Do not stop taking medicine without the instructions of your doctor.

Precautions while using this medicine

The medicine may cause sleepiness, dizziness, dizziness on standing up, light-headed feeling, and lacks of attention, concentration and/or reflex action ability. Do not work at heights or operate machinery with potential risk such as driving a car.

Please note that alcohol drinking may intensify the effect of the medicine.

Please note that smoking may weaken the effect of the medicine.

The medicine may cause weight gain. If you feel an increasing in your body weight, check with your doctor/pharmacist, then take action(s) for weight control such as improvement of dietary balance and exercising.

Side effects of this medicine
Common side effects are reported as below. If any of them occurs, check with your doctor/pharmacist:
weight increase, somnolence, insomnia, constipation, akathisia (state of restlessness), increased appetite, increased triglycerides, thirstiness, malaise, etc.In rare cases, symptoms described below may be the sign of side effects indicated in brackets [ ]. If they occur, stop taking your medicine and check with your doctor immediately.

lassitude, malaise, cold sweat [hypoglycemia]

rapid fever, frequent pulse, muscle rigidity[neuroleptic malignant syndrome]

fever, sore throat, muscle pain[agranulocytosis, leucopenia]
Other side effects not listed here may occur. Check with your doctor/pharmacist if you have any worrisome symptom. |
Storage and other information

Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and humidity.
