Effects of this medicine
This medicine eliminates activated oxygen released from inflammatory cells and inhibits the synthesis of leukotriene. It suppresses development of inflammation and tissue damage, and consequently improves abdominal pain and hematochezia.
It is usually used in the treatment of ulcerative colitis. |
Before using this medicine, tell your doctor/pharmacist

General dosage regimen: For adults, instill a pack of enema (1 g of the active ingredient) into the rectum daily. The dosage may be decreased according to the age or symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist.

Take out from the package immediately before using, and shake the container well.

Missed dose: Use a dose as soon as possible when you remember that you missed a rectal instillation. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, consult with your doctor/pharmacist.

Overdose: If you took too much of the medicine (more than ordered), check with your doctor/pharmacist.

Others: Do not stop taking the medicine without the instructions of your doctor.

Side effects of this medicine
Common side effects are reported as below. If any of them occurs, check with your doctor/pharmacist: rash, urticaria, erythema, diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, discomfort, defecation urgency, etc.In rare cases, symptoms described below may be the sign of side effects indicated in brackets [ ]. If they occur, stop taking your medicine and check with your doctor immediately.

fever (37-38℃), breathing difficulty, dry cough [hypersensitivity pulmonary disorder]

chest pain, fever, breathing difficulty [myocarditis, pericarditis, pleuritis]

fever, decreased urine output, breathing difficulty [interstitial nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, deteriorated renal function, acute renal failure]

anemic tendency, bleeding tendency, fever [aplastic anemia, pancytopenia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia]
-
general fatigue, loss of appetite, yellowing of the skin/eyes[hepatitis, liver dysfunction, jaundice]
-
severe pain in the upper abdomen or lower back, fever, nausea, vomiting [pancreatitis]

Storage and other information

Keep the medicine out of the reach of children. Store it away from light, heat and moisture.

Use the pack immediately after opening. Discard the remainder. Do not store them.
