Effects of this medicine
This medicine attaches to benzodiazepine receptors in the brain to enhance GABA activity and control nervous activity. It has sedative/hypnotic/antianxiety/muscle relaxative/anticonvulsant effects and is effective in controlling anterograde amnesia.
It is usually used to treat insomnia, or used before anesthesia. Also, it is used to treat atypical petit mal (e.g. massive myoclonic seizure, myoclonic seizure, astatic seizure), and focal seizures (e.g. focal convulsive seizure, psychomotor seizure, autonomic seizure). |

If you ever experienced any allergic reaction (itch, rash etc.) to any medicine.
If you are a patient with glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, or decreased respiratory function.

Dosage regimen (proper use of this medicine)

General dosage regimen: Insomnia, For adults, take 0.5-1g (5-10mg of the active ingredient) at bedtime, right before falling asleep. Do not take it when you need to become awake temporarily, during the hours of sleep, to do some job before falling back to sleep again.
Anesthetic premedication, For adults, take 0.5-1g (5-10mg of the active ingredient) at bedtime, or before surgery.
Epilepsy, For adults and children, take 0.5-1.5g (5-15mg of the active ingredient) in divided doses a day.
In any case, the dose may be adjusted according to your disease, age and symptoms. 1g of this medicine contains 10mg of the active ingredient. Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist.

Missed dose: If you are under treatment of insomnia, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule (at the following bedtime). You must not take it except at bedtime. DO NOT take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
If prescribed as an antiepilepsy drug, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose: If you took too much of this medicine (more than ordered), check with your doctor/pharmacist.

Others: Do not stop taking this medicine without the instructions of your doctor.

Precautions while using this medicine

You may feel drowsiness and decline in attentiveness/concentration/reflex movement on the following day after taking this medicine. Do not drive a car or operate dangerous machinery while you take this medicine.

Avoid alcohol intake as it may cause this medicine to act excessively.

Side effects of this medicine
Common side effects are reported as below. If any of them occurs, check with your doctor/pharmacist: lightheadedness, fatigue, drowsiness/persistent drowsiness, dry mouth, rash, itch.In rare cases, symptoms described below may be the sign of side effects indicated in brackets [ ]. If they occur, stop taking your medicine and check with your doctor immediately.
