Effects of this medicine
This medicine is an active vitamin D3 derivative, suppreses the growth of epidermal keratinocytes, and improves acanthosis.
It is usually used to treat psoriasis, ichthyosis, palmoplantar keratoderma, or palmoplantar pustulosis, etc.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

If you ever experienced any allergic reaction (itch, rash etc.) to any medicine.
If you have hypercalcemia or there is a probability of it, or renal dysfunction.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

General dosage regimen: Rub an appropriate amount of the ointment into the affected area, twice daily, however, the number of doses a day may be decreased according to the symptoms. The daily dose is up to 10 g (when using the ointment together with Oxarol Lotion, the total dose is 10 g). Wash the hands enough after applying the ointment. Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist.

Never apply the ointment to normal skin. Take enough care not to get the medicine in the eye. Never touch a wound with the hand that applied the ointment.

Apply it as soon as possible. DO NOT use a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

If you used too much of the ointment (more than ordered), or accidentally take it orally, check with your doctor/pharmacist.

Do not stop using this medicine without the instructions of your doctor.

Precautions while taking this medicine

Laboratory tests including blood calcium level and renal function test will be performed regularly to check side effects that you cannot notice. Keep all appointments with your doctor and the laboratory.

Possible adverse effects of this medicine
Common side effects are reported as below. If any of them occurs, check with your doctor/pharmacist: itch, skin irritation, rush, etc.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse effects indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

dry mouth, malaise, weakness [hypercalcemia]

decrease of urine output, swelling, general malaise [acute renal failure]
