Effects of this medicine

Before using this medicine, tell your doctor/pharmacist

• If you ever experienced any allergic reaction (itch, rash etc.) to any medicine.
  If you have decreased hepatic metabolism, low blood pressure or liver/renal dysfunction.

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

• If you are using any other prescription or nonprescription (OTC) medicine. (It is important to reduce the risk of drug interactions.)

Dosage regimen (proper use of this medicine)

• Your dosage regimen is:(order of your doctor)

• General dosage regimen: For treatment of hypertension, for adults, take 2.5-5 mg of amlodipine at a time, once a day, to be adjusted according to your symptoms. If it is not effective enough, then increase the dose up to maximum of 10 mg of amlodipine once a day.
  For treatment of angina, for adults, take 5 mg of amlodipine at a time, once a day, to be adjusted according to your symptoms.
  For treatment of hypercholesterolemia, for adults, take 10 mg of atorvastatin at a time, once a day, to be adjusted according to your age and symptoms. For severe symptoms, increase the dose up to maximum of 20 mg of atorvastatin once a day.
  For treatment of familial hypercholesterolemia, for adults, take 10 mg of atorvastatin at a time, once a day, to be adjusted according to your age and symptoms. For severe symptoms, increase the dose up to maximum of 40 mg of atorvastatin once a day.
  Each tablet of this medicine contains 2.5 mg of amlodipine and 10 mg of atorvastatin. Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist.

• Missed dose: If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. DO NOT take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

• Overdose: If you took too much of this medicine (more than ordered), check with your doctor/pharmacist.

• Others: Do not stop taking this medicine without the instructions of your doctor.

Precautions while using this medicine

• Dizziness and light-headedness due to lowered blood pressure may occur after taking this medicine. Cautiously use before driving a car, working at heights or operating dangerous machines.
• Strictly adhere to the instructions on diet treatment and exercise therapy.
• Avoid drinking grapefruit juice with this medicine, because the effect of the medicine may be increased.

Side effects of this medicine

• nausea/vomiting, dullness (general), yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes [fulminant hepatitis, hepatitis, liver dysfunction, jaundice]
• fever, sore throat, bleeding from nose/subcutaneous bleeding [agranulocytosis, leukopenia, pancytopenia, thrombocytopenia]
• breathing difficulty, hives, swelling around the eyes and lips [hypersensitivity]
• bradycardia, dizziness, syncope [atrioventricular block]
• muscle pain, muscle weakness, reddish brown urine [rhabdomyolysis, myopathy]

Storage and other information

• Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and humidity.
• Discard the remainder. Do not store them. Ask the pharmacist how to discard unneeded medicine.
