Effects of this medicine

This medicine suppresses tumor growth in combination with other anti-tumor drugs.
It is usually used to treat colon cancer, rectal cancer, non-small cell lung cancer other than squamous cell cancer, breast cancer, and malignant glioma.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have previously experienced hematemesis.
    If you have gastrointestinal inflammation such as gastric ulcer.
    If it has not been long since you had a large operation.
    If you are diagnosed with tumor metastasis to brain.
    If you have predisposition of prolonged bleeding.
    If you ever experienced thromboembolism (myocardial infarction, cerebral infarction, deep-vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism).
    If you have: hypertension, heart problem.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is <<        to be written by a healthcare professional>>

  • In general, inject with intravenous infusion at an interval of more than two weeks or three weeks. It will take 90 minutes for the first time to be administered with intravenous infusion. For the second time and thereafter, there may be the case when the time for the intravenous infusion is shorten, depending on the situation.
  • The treatment interval and period with this medicine depend on your response to the treatment.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • If you will have an operation or a dental extraction, inform your doctor that you are using this medicine.
  • Measure blood pressure periodically at home.
  • If you have a possibility of pregnancy, avoid pregnancy while you are taking this medicine. Also avoid pregnancy for at least six months after you discontinue this medicine. If you wish to be pregnant, consult with your doctor.
  • Avoid breastfeeding while you are taking this medicine. Also avoid breastfeeding for at least six months after you discontinue this medicine.

Possible adverse effects of this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include hemorrhage, hypertension, neurotoxicity, fatigue/malaise, appetite decreased, nausea, stomatitis, and alopecia. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse effects indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • chill, cold sweat, numbness in hands and feet, lightheadedness, dyspnea, feeling of tight chest, rash, urticaria, itch, edema, lip and throat swellings, falling in blood pressure [shock, anaphylaxis]
  • severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, constipation, blood in stool (red to black stool) [gastrointestinal perforation]
  • leakage of intestinal juice and stool from the holes around the anus and the skin, fever, abdominal pain, abdominal bloating, blood in stool (red to black stool), diarrhea, frequent urination, feeling of residual urine, bubble in urine, cloudy urine, leakage of stool from the vagina [intestinal and skin fistula, intestinal fistula]
  • hemoptysis, respiratory distress, shortness of breath, epigastric distress, nausea, choke at dietary, fever [tracheoesophageal fistula]
  • fever, cough, hemoptysis, respiratory distress, shortness of breath [bronchial pleural fistula]
  • urine leakage from the vagina, vaginal bleeding, frequent urination, feeling of residual urine [urogenital fistula]
  • lack of energy, yellowish skin and white eye, brown urine, vomiting, fever [bile duct fistula]
  • delay in healing the wound, open wound, bleeding from the wound [delayed wound healing]
  • severe abdominal pain, hemoptysis, blood in stool (red to black stool), sputum mixed with blood, vomit with blood, headache, nausea, vomiting, paralysis of unilateral limb, severe numbness, grogginess, epistaxis, bleeding from the gums, bleeding from the vagina [gastrointestinal hemorrhage (hemoptysis, melena), pulmonary hemorrhage (bloody sputum, hemoptysis), cerebral hemorrhage, nasal hemorrhage, gingival bleeding, vaginal bleeding]
  • sense of sluggishness, headache, nausea, vomiting, difficult to talk, paralysis of face and limb, numbness, dizziness, grogginess, decreased visual acuity [cerebrovascular accident, transient ischemic attack, cerebral ischemia, cerebral infarction]
  • chest pain, feeling of tight chest [myocardial infarction, angina pectoris]
  • redness and swelling of unilateral calf, pain of calf when pressed, sudden respiratory distress and feeling of tight chest [venous thromboembolism such as deep-vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism]
  • headache, nausea, grogginess, convulsion [hypertensive encephalopathy, hypertensive crisis]
  • headache, dull, lightheadedness, difficult to remember, memory loss, convulsion, difficult to talk, less visible, blurred vision, difficult to tell light and dark, loss of conscious [reversible posterior leukoencephalopathy syndrome]
  • hypouresis, lack of energy, fatigue, difficult to urinate [nephrose syndrome]
  • dizziness. palpitation, shortness of breath, ear ringing, headache, lassitude, fever, sore throat, cough, sputum, continuous bleeding, bleeding tendency, gum bleeding, nose bleeding, blue spot, subcutaneous bleeding, chills,sudden high fever with shiver, fast pulse, breathing difficulty, joint pain, decreased blood pressure[myelosuppression (pancytopenia, neutropenia, leukopenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia), infection]
  • shortness of breath, chest pain, chest pressured feeling[congestive heart failure]
  • fever, dry cough, breathlessness, shortness of breath[interstitial pneumonia]
