Effects of this medicine
This medicine regulates a neurotransmitter in the brain (dopamine), thus alleviating depressed mood, soothing anxiety, tense nerves and excitement, and stabilizing the mental state.
It is usually used for the treatment of depression and a depressed mood and for stabilization of the mental state.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

If you ever experienced any allergic reaction (itch, rash etc.) to any medicine.
If you have prolactin-secreting pituitary tumor (prolactinoma) or suspected phaeochromocytoma.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

General dosage regimen: For the treatment of depression/depressed mood, for adults, take 150 to 300mg of the active ingredient per day in several divided doses. The dosage may be adjusted according to your age and symptoms. The daily dose may be increased up to 6 tablets (600mg).
For the treatment of other than symptoms listed above, for adults, take 3 to 6 tablets (300 to 600mg of the active ingredient) per day in several divided doses. The dosage may be adjusted according to your age and symptoms. The daily dose may be increased up to 12 tablets (1,200mg).
Since 1 tablet of this preparation contains 100mg of the active ingredient, use this preparation only if you are instructed to take at least 100mg at a time. Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor/pharmacist.

If you realize that you have missed a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT take double doses to make up for the missed dose.

If you took too much of the medicine (more than ordered), check with your doctor/pharmacist.

Do not stop taking the medicine without the instructions of your doctor.

Precautions while taking this medicine

Sleepiness or dizziness may occur after taking the medicine. Do not drive a car or operate dangerous machinery.

Alcohol intake may enhance the effect of the medicine. Refrain from drinking alcohol while taking the medicine.

Possible adverse effects of this medicine
Common side effects are reported as below. If any of them occurs, check with your doctor/pharmacist: Parkinson's syndrome (tremor, stiffness, drooling), lactation, gynaecomastia, menstrual disorder, sleeping disorder, unrest, irritated feeling, sleepiness, feelings of weakness, malaise, thirst, rash, itching, oedema, etc.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse effects indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

high spiking fever, tremor of the hands and legs, muscle stiffness [neuroleptic malignant syndrome]

cramp or spasm[convulsions]

chest pain, palpitations, chest discomfort [prolonged QT, ventricular tachycardia]

general malaise, loss of appetite, yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eye [hepatic function disorder, jaundice]

sore throat, headache, fever [agranulocytosis, leukopenia]
The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.

Storage conditions and other information

Keep out of the reach of infants and children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and humidity.

Discard the remainder. Do not store them. Consult with your dispensing pharmacy when you discard the medicine.
