Dosage |
Adult ≥18 yr 400 mg (oral or IV infusion) once every 24 hr. Acute bacterial sinusitis 400 mg daily for 10 days. Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis 400 mg daily for 5 days. Community-acquired pneumonia 400 mg daily for 7-14 days. Uncomplicated skin & skin structure infections 400 mg daily for 7 days. Complicated skin & skin structure infections 400 mg daily for 7-21 days. Complicated intra-abdominal infections 400 mg daily for 5-14 days.

Special Precautions |
Patients w/ known prolongation of QT interval, ongoing proarrhythmic conditions & those w/ concomitant medication known to prolong QTc interval. Known or suspected CNS disorders which may predispose to seizures or lower seizure threshold, tendonitis or tendon rupture. Maintain adequate hydration. Avoid excessive sunlight or artificial UV light. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery.

Adverse Drug Reactions |
Nausea, diarrhea, dizziness; abdominal pain, headache, asthenia, inj site reaction, malaise, moniliasis, pain, allergic reaction; CVS & CNS disturbances; GI disturbances; hematological changes; increased amylase & lactic dehydrogenase; arthralgia & myalgia; rash, pruritus, sweating, urticaria; taste perversion; vag moniliasis & vaginitis.

Antacids, sucralfate & metal cations, multivit containing Fe or Zn, formulations w/ divalent & trivalent cations. NSAIDs.
