Indications |
Long-term enzyme replacement therapy for ped & adult patients w/ a confirmed diagnosis of type 1 Gaucher disease that results in anemia, thrombocytopenia, bone disease, hepatomegaly or splenomegaly. |
Dosage |
By IV infusion over 1-2 hr. Initially, dosage range: 2.5 u/kg 3 times a wk to 60 u/kg once every 2 wk. Individualised dosage adjustments. |
Special Precautions |
Monitor periodically for IgG antibody formation during the 1st yr. Anaphylactoid reactions. Development of antibody or hypersensitivity to Ceredase. Pregnancy & lactation. |
Adverse Drug Reactions |
Discomfort, pruritus, burning, swelling or sterile abscess at the site of venipuncture. Hypersensitivity & anaphylactoid reactions. Nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, fatigue, headache, fever, dizziness, chills, backache & tachycardia.
