Alglucosidase alfa |
Indications |
Treatment for Pompe disease (GAA deficiency). |
Dosage |
20 mg/kg body wt IV every 2 wk. Infusion rate: Initially <1 mg/kg/hr, may be increased to 2 mg/kg/hr every 30 min until max 7 mg/kg/hr. |
Special Precautions |
General anaesth. Patients w/ infusion reactions. Acute underlying illness. Pregnancy & lactation. |
Adverse Drug Reactions |
Cardioresp failure, anaphylactic reactions, cardiac arrest, pneumonia, resp failure, resp distress, catheter-related infection, resp syncytial virus infection, gastroentiritis, fever, diarrhea, rash, vomiting, cough, otitis media, decreased oxygen saturation.
