Contents Pentoxifylline
Indications Arterial & arteriovenous circulatory disorders. Conditions of impaired cerebral circulation, ischaemic & post-apoplectic states. Peripheral arterial & arteriovenous circulatory disorders of arteriosclerotic, diabetic or inflammatory origin. Impaired eye & internal ear circulation.
Dosage Tab 1 tab bd-tds. Amp 1 infusion of 100-600 mg in 100-500 mL infusion liqd 1-2 times daily. In advanced cases, a continuous IV infusion of 1,200 mg over 24 hr or 2 infusions of 600 mg each over at least 6 hr. Max: 1,200 mg/24 hr.
Administration Should be taken with food
Contraindications Severe cerebral hemorrhage; massive retinal hemorrhage. Massive bleeding. Pregnancy.
Special Precautions Severe coronary & cerebral sclerosis w/ HTN; hypotension, circulatory instability; severe cardiac arrhythmias, MI, increased bleeding tendency. impaired renal & liver function. Do not inject into carotid artery in advanced arteriosclerosis. Lactation. Childn.
Adverse Drug Reactions Rarely, GI effects; hypersensitivity reactions.

Drug Interactions May potentiate effects of antihypertensives. High parenteral dose may intensify hypoglycemic action of insulin & oral hypoglycemics. Theophylline.
