Indications |
Symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis (including persistent allergic rhinitis) & chronic idiopathic urticaria. |

Dosage |
Tab Adult & childn ≥6 yr 5 mg daily. Paed drops Adult & childn ≥6 yr 5 mg daily (20 drops). Childn 2-6 yr 1.25 mg bd (5 drops bd). |

Administration |
May be taken with or without food (Tab: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush. Paed drops: Drops must be diluted before drinking.). |

Contraindications |
Hypersensitivity to piperazine derivatives. Severe renal impairment (CrCl <10 mL/min). Childn <2 yr. |
|
Special Precautions |
Alcohol consumption, galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Hepatic & renal impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. |

Dry mouth, headache, fatigue, somnolence.

Pregnancy Category (US FDA) |
Category B: Either animal-reproduction studies have not demonstrated a foetal risk but there are no controlled studies in pregnant women or animal-reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect (other than a decrease in fertility) that was not confirmed in controlled studies in women in the 1st trimester (and there is no evidence of a risk in later trimesters). |
