Dosage Adult & childn ≥12 yr 1 tab bd (morning & evening) for 2-3 wk.

Overdosage View Zyrtec-D overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose.
Administration May be taken with or without food (Take during or between meals. Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.).
Contraindications Hypersensitivity to ephedrine & other piperazine. Severe HTN or CAD. Patients receiving dihydroergotamine & MAOI. Moderately severe to severe renal insufficiency, uncontrolled hyperthyroidism, severe arrythmias, pheochromocytoma, urinary retention, increased IOP. Stroke or high risk haemorrhagic stroke. Hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <12 yr.

Special Precautions DM, hyperthyroidism, arterial HTN, tachycardia, cardiac arrhythmia, ischemic heart disease, renal or hepatic insufficiency. Prostatic hypertrophy or bladder outflow obstruction. Hypercoagulability. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Elderly.

Adverse Drug Reactions Tachycardia, dry mouth, nausea, asthenia, vertigo, dizziness, headache, somnolence, nervousness, insomnia.

Drug Interactions Sympathomimetics, TCA, antihypertensives, alcohol or other CNS depressants, digitalis. Theopylline, MAOIs, linezolid. Antacids, proton-pump inhibitors; kaolin. Halogenated anaesth.
