COMPOSITION
Each 100mL of SEPTOSOL Throat Spray contains 0,5g phenol with sodium benzoate 0,30% m/v as preservative.
PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION
A 16.4 Naso-pharyngeal and bucco-pharyngeal antiseptics.
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION
SEPTOSOL Throat Spray exerts a local anaesthetic effect.
INDICATIONS
SEPTOSOL Throat Spray is indicated for temporary relief of minor sore throat irritations.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
SEPTOSOL Throat Spray is contra-indicated in patients with known sensitivity to phenol.
WARNINGS
Not to be used by persons who are allergic to phenol.
DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Before use, remove the cap from the bottle and screw the spray pump provided onto the bottle.
Spray full-strength 5times (children 6 - 12years, spray 3 times).
Rinse for 15seconds, then expel remainder.
Repeat every 2hours if necessary.
SIDE-EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
Certain individuals may become sensitised to phenol. If severe or persistent sore throat, or sore throat accompanied by high fever, headache, nausea and vomiting occur, consult your physician promptly, as these symptoms may indicate a serious condition. Local irritation may occur.
Not to be given to children under the age of 6years unless directed by a doctor.
KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT
In the event of an oral overdosage of this preparation, substantial doses of a milk and starch mixture should be given and the stomach emptied by inducing emesis or by aspiration and lavage with a dilute starch mixture of a 1% solution of sodium thiosulphate.
Further treatment is symptomatic.
IDENTIFICATION
A clear red, cherry-flavoured solution, with the odour of menthol and thymol. It leaves a slight tingling sensation in the mouth when applied.

Amber glass bottle of 100mL, with spray pump attachment.
STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Store below 25°C.
