oactive iodine-refractory differentiated thyroid cancer (RAI-refractory DTC) in a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial after receiving lenvatinib daily at the recommended dose; the QT/QTc interval was not prolonged, however, after a single 32 mg dose (1.3 times the recommended daily dose) in healthy subjects.
Leuprolide: Androgen deprivation therapy (e.g., leuprolide) prolongs the QT interval; the risk may be increased with the concurrent use of drugs that may prolong the QT interval. Drugs with a possible risk for QT prolongation and TdP that should be used cautiously and with close monitoring with leuprolide include dolasetron.
Leuprolide; Norethindrone: Androgen deprivation therapy (e.g., leuprolide) prolongs the QT interval; the risk may be increased with the concurrent use of drugs that may prolong the QT interval. Drugs with a possible risk for QT prolongation and TdP that should be used cautiously and with close monitoring with leuprolide include dolasetron.
Levofloxacin: Avoid concurrent use of dolasetron and levofloxacin due to an increased risk for QT prolongation and torsade de pointes (TdP). Levofloxacin has been associated with prolongation of the QT interval and infrequent cases of arrhythmia. Additionally, rare cases of TdP have been reported during postmarketing surveillance in patients receiving levofloxacin. Dolasetron has been associated with a dose-dependent prolongation in the QT, PR, and QRS intervals. Use of dolasetron injection for the prevention of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting is contraindicated because the risk of QT prolongation is higher with the doses required for this indication; when the injection is used at lower doses (i.e., those approved for post-operative nausea and vomiting) or when the oral formulation is used, the risk of QT prolongation is lower and caution is advised.
Levomethadyl: Levomethadyl is associated with an established risk of QT prolongation and/or torsades de pointes and is contraindicated in combination with other agents that may prolong the QT interval, such as dolasetron.
Levomilnacipran: Because of the potential risk and severity of serotonin syndrome, use caution when administering dolasetron with other drugs that have serotonergic properties such as levomilnacipran. If serotonin syndrome is suspected, discontinue dolasetron and concurrent serotonergic agents and initiate appropriate medical treatment. Serotonin syndrome is characterized by rapid development of hyperthermia, hypertension, myoclonus, rigidity, autonomic instability, mental status changes (e.g., delirium or coma), and in rare cases, death.
Linezolid: Because of the potential risk and severity of serotonin syndrome, use caution when administering dolasetron with other drugs that have serotonergic properties such as linezolid.
Lithium: Dolasetron and lithium have both been associated with QT prolongation. Coadministration of lithium and dolasetron increases the risk of QT prolongation and; therefore, should be done with caution and close monitoring. Because of the potential risk and severity of serotonin syndrome, us
